Celebrating the LGC Awards 2015

March has been a busy month for us at Waters Creative and the highlight has to be the LGC 2015 Awards!

On March 11th our directors Rhian and Rachael, dressed in their finery and made their way up to the Grosvenor Hotel in London for the prestigious LGC Awards. The awards are a highly recognised evening event celebrating good practice and great achievements within Local Government. The event was compared by Sue Perkins from The Great British Bake Off, who was brilliant at keeping time and very funny!

Our clients Reading Borough Council and O2 were honoured to be shortlisted, and we were fortunate to be invited to share in their success for the ElevateMe project we worked on. The project has had huge success in Reading and has now been rolled out across Berkshire.

The entire Waters Creative team have been involved in one way or another with the exciting and forward thinking project, from brand identity and design through to the website development completed by our talented web team.

ElevateMe is a website that helps young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) along the path towards a successful career by bringing together relevant information and links to local and national agencies. By using a SimCity-style it gives young people the opportunity to learn and improve along the way to job success, whilst remaining engaged and interested.

The 2015 LGC Awards saw a record number of 200+ organisations all competing for 19 hotly contended prizes, ElevateMe was shortlisted for two awards ‘Innovation’ and ‘Innovative Service Delivery Model’. After an energetic catch up with our colleagues and a mouth wateringly good meal it was time for the ceremony to begin. We were more than thrilled to receive a Highly Commended award in the category ‘Innovative Service Delivery Model’, highlighting the importance of the project and rewarding the hard work and determination of everyone involved.

Roland Hanbury, Head of Public Sector Applications Solutions for Telefónica UK said
The LGC award nominations are a cherry on top of what’s been a busy but fantastic year for all involved with ElevateMe. This is a great recognition for a project that I truly believe is a unique and innovative way of delivering a potentially life changing service to the young people of Berkshire.”

Thank you to everyone we worked with at Reading Borough Council and O2 for such an amazing opportunity and we look forward to the success of this collaborative project over the forthcoming months.
