At WATERS, the world influences every aspect of our creativity.

Here’s what’s happening in our world – company news, press coverage and a glimpse at what we get up to behind the scenes.

Greetings from WATERS!

How well a greetings card is received is in its delivery.

Expressing the sentiments of strangers is difficult enough, but incorporating it into an eye-catching design that makes the recipient want to frame it rather than recycle it… it’s not an easy undertaking. Luckily, we’ve got some real card sharks here at WATERS.

We’re dab hands at branding and strategy, but designing greeting cards is a new one for us. It all started with our amazing artworker, Rosie. Rosie has been designing amazing personalised greeting cards for our team’s birthdays since she joined in December 2016 – needless to say, everyone has been overjoyed with their pixel personas (take a look for yourself!). So much so, in fact, that we thought we’d share the good wishes beyond our office.

Our team don’t take much encouraging when it comes to meeting new challenges. We invited them to design a set of greetings cards that will speak to all the designers and developers out there, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! Rosie and Leah, our UX/UI Designer, have designed two collections of wonderfully-crafted cards that are aimed at those hard-to-buy-for creative types.

Rosie delivered us a tech-themed collection combining sleek design, humour and sentimental messaging. Even non-techies will appreciate them (who hasn’t had a day where every email that comes through pushes your phone’s battery precariously closer to 1%?); although we suspect heads might be scratched for one of them if you aren’t well-versed in PHP.

A sneak peek of Rosie's and Leah's cards

Leah’s collection is designed for designers who’ve ever been asked to achieve the impossible and then some. With a set of tongue-in-cheek messages, this collection will chime with graphic designers who’ve been asked to make a mountain from a pixelated molehill (talk about keeping us on our toes!).

As well as damn good designs, each card has its own pun inscribed on the back. You might need to learn a thing or two about hex codes mind, because things aren’t always #000000 and #FFFFFF

“Where can I find these witty creations?” we hear you ask. Well, you can take a look at the collections here where they are exclusively available to buy online in packs of 6 (1 of each design) or individually. We’re also selling them in our office, so if you want to save yourself P&P then please pop down, say “hi!” and pick up a card or two!
