At WATERS, the world influences every aspect of our creativity.

Here’s what’s happening in our world – company news, press coverage and a glimpse at what we get up to behind the scenes.

For the second time this year, we are delighted to be working in partnership with Swansea Metropolitan University’s Graphic Design department to offer hands-on work experience to third year students.

The aim of the collaboration is to enable the students to demonstrate their design skills in a ‘real’ working environment. The benefit is substantial to the young people when they graduate and are looking for work, demonstrating genuine experience in a developing design agency.

A total of 35 students will be taking up this internship opportunity at Waters Creative on a rotational basis during November and April.

In March of this year, we welcomed 18 design students into our Swansea Waterfront offices, and ensured that during their time with us, it was productive and fruitful by giving them genuine client briefs to work on.

Apart from gaining this first hand work experience, the students are also able to include their design work in their educational portfolios, which is a huge advantage when looking for future employment.

Waters Creative already has a strong working relationship with the University through support that we give to students by helping them with job interview techniques. We see this initiative as the next step in our commitment to supporting and encouraging young, local talent.

The new Waters Creative internships began on 5 November 2012 with each student spending 3 days working on specific design projects within the company.
