With Swansea University celebrating their centenary in 2020, the chance to reinvent their traditional prospectus style came with added purpose to help them continue to make waves as they entered their second century.
We combined the University’s Research As Art competition images with die-cut covers to create a striking range of prospectuses that are unique to each subject. They are designed to work as standalone pieces and as part of a collective and debuted at the University’s Open Days in June 2018.
Collaborating with our printer partners and the client from the outset, we were able to take the die-cut covers from concept to reality. The Research as Art images shown through the cut-outs to add another dimension to the prospectus and helps the University stand out in an extremely competitive marketplace.
Students, staff and researchers at Swansea University submit images that inspire to the Research As Art competition. This featured heavily in our designs to showcase the real impact the University has around the world and to give it a more personal, abstract touch. We took inspiration from the striking imagery to produce an equally-standout design.
Consistent layouts across the prospectuses allows them to work as a collective, but with enough flexibility for different colleges to differentiate and include the information they need prospective students to see.
