REAL WORLD CHALLENGE

Vita Liquid Polymers (VLP) are a Manchester-based manufacturer of polymer-related products. They have a strong heritage, having been founded in 1932 as Rubber Latex Limited which was integrated into the internationally acclaimed Vita Group, leading to VLP being born in 1987.

Since then, they have been at the forefront of the polymers industry, using innovation to create a wide range of market-ready products that benefit from the versatility of polymers. Their core product range features four distinct brands which are used in a wide variety of areas, from prosthetic limbs and aircraft carpet, to wallpaper and artificial surfaces.

Our relationship with VLP goes back to 2007, when we helped develop the initial corporate brand and product sub-brands before moving onto a whole range of projects, from swatch cards and datasheets, to photoshoots and calendars. Following their expansion into Poland, VLP needed our help to tell their story to an international audience by way of a new website. 

REAL WORLD IDEA

Working as an extension of the VLP business development team, we had a very clear idea of what the VLP team had a preference for when it came to brand presentation, but it was still vitally important to get their feedback at each stage to make sure the website met their long term requirements. This communication was key to deciding what the website actually needed to do – i.e. it was so much more than an online brochure. With the expansion of the business into Poland, a bilingual site was essential, as was ensuring the key messaging was clear and concise.

REALISED

The foundations for VLP’s website were built on the WATERS Content Management System (WCMS). Using this platform, our web team were able to build a website that matched VLP’s needs exactly by creating web pages for each core product application underneath an over-arching Products page. This was placed alongside pages telling the story of VLP, as well as a News page where the VLP team can post the latest updates regarding the company’s achievements. A language toggle facility on all pages allows the user to quickly switch the page they are currently viewing into either English or Polish – a key requirement that we were confident of meeting, given our previous experience with designing bilingual websites for other global organisations. 

RESULTS

VLP’s new website went live in September 2016. With a fully-responsive design enabling it to be accessed by all devices (be it desktop, tablet or mobile), it brings the web presence of the company in line with their cutting-edge innovation in polymers. It was a really interesting website for our team to work on – we’re definitely more knowledgeable about polymers than we were before!
